Why do we need to install display GPi CASE 2 patch for Retropie and Recalbox? Because
Retropie and Recalbox systems default display output is HDMI. GPi CASE 2 has to transfer
display output to GPIO for it to work correctly.
Safe Shutdown for GPi CASE 2
GPi CASE 2 can have SAFE SHUTDOWN functions. (Scripts are necessary).
Because the EMMC version needs to write the system to the onboard EMMC, the steps are more complex,
In the without WiFi version, if you need to connect to the network, you need to use a USB wired network card, which will increase steps and costs (such as transferring ROM and installing safe shutdown script).
After testing, the following systems can be used at present
1. recalbox(7.1.1)/(8.0.0)
2. retropie(4.7.1)
3. batocera31
GPiCase 2 has a built-in 4000 MAH polymer lithium battery
1. Service life: according to the power of raspberry pi CM4, it can be used continuously for 5 ~ 6 hours without overclocking CPU (considering heat dissipation, overclocking is not recommended).
2. Use a 5V 3A charger. The charging time is 2H. Charge to 80%. Then reduce the charging current. It takes about 3.5H to fully charge.
Firstly, the screen switching of gpicase2 does not support hot plug. In addition, it only supports the base conversion HDMI signal output.
1. Install GPiCase 2 display patch
2. Method 1 manually replace the (config. txt) file in the SD card /boot directory with the (config_lcd. txt/config_hdmi. txt ) file.
3. Method 2 install the safe shutdown script. The script has the function of detecting whether it is inserted into the base, and can automatically switch between HDMI and LCD output (it needs to be powered on or restarted after connecting or unplugging the dock, and hot plug is not supported).
